You have to deal with every child or adult with autism different. As no two people with ASD are the same, Too many medical professions take a cookie cutter approach when treating some of these children. Each case of autism is as unique as the next. So, the treatment needs to adjusted to each person’s case. It is difficult for a Doctor to get the full picture of where a child is on the spectrum when many only spend 15 minutes in their office. I always kept a log of my child’s behavior as in the time of day a meltdown may have happened. What may have sent them into the meltdown etc. Parents are around the child way more then anyone else so they are going to notice things that a doctor may overlook if it is not brought to their attention.
